Feasibility studies for Industrial Parks.

In 2021 Government of Uganda approved a mechanism to transform the country into a middle-income status using the industrial parks model. Under this mechanism the country was divided into 20 zones where industrial parks are expected to be established. This will facilitate the exploitation of available resources in the respective zones such as commercial farming, agro-processing, petroleum industry, manufacturing, minerals, etc. In order for this mechanism to work, Government will have to undertake feasibility studies which should inform their planning and development. Therefore, in order to attract investors to develop and locate in the parks, these feasibility studies present a business opportunity which is key for unlocking investment across the country and promoting urbanization. It is also expected that these industrial parks will provide space for Free Zones where investors will be facilitated to establish factories for promoting exports under special arrangements.
