Uganda has one of the richest and most diverse natural resource bases in Africa that includes mineral deposits such as copper, tungsten, cobalt, tantalite, oil, natural, gas;, regular rainfall, and fertile land across the country, providing good opportunities for commercial agriculture and agro-processing. Uganda’s primary trade items are foods and beverages, vegetable and animal products, chemical or allied industries products, tobacco, textiles and textile articles.

Exploration in the lake Albert area has revealed large amounts of petroleum reserves exceeding 2 billion barrels that are enough to produce 100,000 barrels of oil per day in Uganda for 20 years. Uganda’s biodiversity ranks among the top 10 in the world and attracts an increasing number of tourists.
